Spurs are without a new manager after Jose Mourinho was booted out of office on Monday following a poor run in the Premier League. Mourinho and his Spurs players started the current league season well and even topped the table for several weeks until things started to fall apart towards the end of last year.

Tottenham Hotspur have moved from top spot to seventh spot in a matter of a few months under Mourinho and are even struggling to qualify for Champions League football. To this effect, the club hierarchy decided to act swiftly by sacking the former Chelsea, Inter Milan and Manchester United boss. Spurs have since named former midfielder Ryan Mason as the man to take charge of the team on an interim basis until the end of the season.

Mason will start life as the interim Spurs manager with the home game with the Saints at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday before facing Pep Guardiola and Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

For the Southampton game, Michael Owen believes that Mason will start his tenure with a win. Michael Owen made the prediction on his BetVictor column. The Ex-Stoke City, Newcastle United and Manchester United striker predicted a 2-1 win for Tottenham Hotspur.

With a win over the Saints, Tottenham Hotspur can move within two points of the Champions League places having played a game more than the leading teams like Chelsea, West Ham United and Liverpool.

Michael Owen also predicted the Chelsea v Brighton game but his prediction was wrong after the two teams played a goalless draw. The Liverpool legend had predicted a 2-0 win for hosts Chelsea.
